How does this whole doula thing work, anyhow?
My service package includes two prenatal visits, continuous attendance at your birth (however long it is!) and two postpartum visits. It is best if I can meet with you and your partner, or anyone else who will be staying with you during the birth.
My flat fee for births is $500, so there will be two payments of $250.
The first payment is due when you sign our service agreement, as I am committing to take no other births close to your due date. The second payment is due at the first postpartum home visit. Of course, the intitial interview on the phone or in person is free.
I am also available for labor consultation sessions. If you do not plan to hire a doula, but want to spend some time going over birth plans, labor patterns, and comfort measures with a supportive professional, please contact me. Labor consultation fees are $50 for a two hour session in your home. Additional time will be billed at $15 per hour.
